envy re-established themselves with a new name and new band members in 1993. Since then, through a production process of trial and error, they have pursued and succeeded to create their own original style of music. In the past 15 years, envy has become a dominant band in the independent scene in Japan. Their music, through their own evolution, encompasses a sound best described as atmospheric / alternative / post-rock where intensity and beauty coexists.
Since the beginning, they have toured extensively throughout Japan as well as Europe, US and Asia gaining popularity and creating a solid growing international fan base. They have released 4 full albums, splits with such bands as Thursday, Jesu, Sixpence, Endeavor and TMK. envy has supported many bands such as Mogwai, ISIS, Converge, Explosions in the Sky, Locust, Lighting Bolt, Hot Cross… Recently they have played at Japan’s biggest festival, Fuji Rock Festival, as well as festivals overseas such as the All Tomorrow’s Party Festival, once curated by Mogwai and once by Explosions in the Sky. They have also played at other various festivals all over the globe including France, Czech and Taiwan.
In Japan, envy is currently signed to their own label, Sonzai Records in Japan and has released 4 full albums, 3 singles and 1 DVD. In Europe, they are signed to Rockaction Records, owned by Mogwai, and have released 3 albums, 1 single and a DVD. The booking agent for Europe is Conspiracy Records. In the US, they are signed to Temporary Residence LTD and have released 3 albums, 1 DVD, 1 single and 1 split CD with Thursday. The booking agent for the US is The Agency Group.
After 4 years of releasing various splits and EP’s, envy is scheduled to release their long awaited 5th full album in September / October of 2010.

A blend of minimal phrased piano and dynamic drumming in pursuit of a live experience composed of visual and audio expression.
Formed in 2006, with elements of jazz, funk, post-rock, hardcore and electronic music, Mouse on the Keys fits into a genre of their own. The trio consists of two former members of the influential Japanese underground band Nine Days Wonder, Akira Kawasaki and Atsushi Kiyota. They teamed up with Daisuke Niitome, who has played drums as well as composed music for countless jazz-funk and hip hop bands. Their unique sound, comprising two pianos, two keyboards and drums, continues to stand at the forefront of the Japanese indie scene.
A first tour in Europe in 2010 was well received, and they embarked on another one soon after, making an impression on all who saw them play. Their talent and remarkable creativity is sure to propel them onto an even larger international scene, if not farther. Stated goals are to not only play everywhere around the world, but to also one day make the jump from the terrestrial world and play in outer space.

Background
アメリカ人の父と日本人の母を持ち、京都で生まれ1歳から17歳をアメリカ・シアトル
で過ごした。その後日本に帰国し、上智大学・比較文化学部に入学。大学3年生の時、英語と日本
語どちらもネイティブでバイリンガルな才能を生かしてフジロックフェスティバルで通訳のバイト
として参加。 それがきっかけで、本格的に音楽の世界に足を踏み入れる。フジロックは1998年か
ら現在まで毎年仕事で参加。その他の夏フェスにも参加し、 国内と 海外アーティストの国内ツア
ーでツアーマネージャーや通訳として一緒に回ったりしています。 旅好きな彼にとってもっとも
ライフスタイルにあった職業と出会った。長年の経験で海外、そして国内の様々な音楽アーティス
トとの交流を経て、特徴のある声と人に好かれるキャラクターが買われラジオパーソナリティとし
て大抜擢される。そのほか、CSテレビ番組のナレーション、CMのナレーション、アニメのキャラ
クターボイスやイベントのMCも。また、2000年から現在にかけ国内のクラブやラウンジ、野外音
楽フェスティバルでのDJとしても広く活躍している。
